As we are anxious about sending our kids to Kindergarten we also want them to build confidence and excel in their class. Below are the list of the things that you might want your kid to be aware of before they enter the Kindergarten.

  1. Identifying letters and writing the alphabet.

  2. Understand sounds and phonics.

  3. Building vocabulary and recognizing sight words.

  4. Reading a short story and Q&A on that story, in other words reading comprehension.

  5. Writing sentences, capital letters, punctuations.

  6. Identifying basic colors and shapes.

  7. Recognizing numbers and basic counting.

  8. Learn simple addition or simple math and science concepts like animals, plants and the like.

  9. Other activities like before/after, above/below etc.

Having a basic understanding of 1,2 & 3 is a good start to begin Kindergarten, other topics will be picked up during the school year.

Enjoy and have fun with your kid!
